Summer Safety Tips

Last updated 2 years ago

For kids, summer means fun, relaxation, summer camp, and a break from the homework routine. But summer activities can be dangerous without the right knowledge and care. Spend time teaching your children how to play it safe this summer. That way, whether they’re at home, next door, or at a Voorhees children’s camp, they’ll keep safety in mind.

  • Stay Hydrated: Summer heat doesn’t stop kids from hours of play outside. But if they don’t stay hydrated, their health could be at risk. Send your child to Voorhees activities, events, and summer camp with a water bottle, and remind them to drink often when they’re outside.
  • Use Sun Protection: Teach your child to apply sunscreen every summer morning. Whether you’re planning a day at home or heading out for summer day camp in Voorhees, it’s certain your child will be exposed to the sun sometime during the day. If you’re planning on a full day outside, sleeves and hats are great for added protection.
  • Play Smart: Whether it’s alone, with friends, or at summer camp, kids want to spend all summer playing. Keep playtime fun and injury-free by setting boundaries, establishing safety rules for games and equipment, and supervising activities closely.
  • Swim Safely: Pools are the best summer entertainment—they offer a cool way to get in lots of exercise and activity. But it’s important to establish rules in the pool area to prevent injuries and drowning. If your child doesn’t know how to swim, enroll him in lessons during Voorhees children’s camp right away.

As a parent, you know that summer fun comes with plenty of safety risks. By setting rules and teaching your child how to stay safe, you can prevent accidents, injuries, and sickness. At Under the Sun Learning Center’s summer day camps in Voorhees, Marlton, and West Deptford, we offer safe and supervised summer activities for children of all ages.
